Utley Middle School student Brooke Krantz recently built a lost and found cart for her former school, Shannon Elementary, to earn her Girl Scouts Silver Award.

Brooke found a need for a moveable lost and found cart that was sturdy and would be able to store large amounts of coats. This would help the whole school with locating lost it

ems.

“I learned that you always measure twice,” said Brooke. “We had a bar that was too long and we had to take it back to Home Depot to get it re-cut.  Sometimes when you get frustrated or tired you need to take a break and then try again later.”

According to girlscouts.org, “When Girl Scout Cadettes focus on an issue they care about, learn the facts, and take action to make a difference, they gain the confidence and skills that will catapult them to lifelong success.”

It all adds up to the Girl Scout Silver Award—the highest honor a Cadette can achieve.
