Rockwall County Commissioners Court recognizes retiring Indigent Health Care director

The Commissioners Court recognized retiring Rockwall County Indigent Health Care Director Donna Mussotter for her many years of dedicated service to the county.

Mussotter has served in the county’s Indigent Health Care department for nearly 30 years. She became a director for the department in 2001. The department helps eligible low-income residents who don’t qualify for state or federal health care programs get access to health care services. These services include physician visits, inpatient and outpatient hospital services, three generic prescriptions per month and limited diabetic supplies.

“It has just been a wonderful journey. Doing what I do takes a special kind of person. You have to have a heart for it. I’m just proud and honored I could serve the county in this capacity,” Mussotter said.

As for her future plans, Mussotter and her family are excited to be embarking on a month-long cruise from Australia to New Zealand. She also plans to go back to school to get a nursing degree. She hopes to be able to put the knowledge and skills gained from that degree to good use during future mission trips.
