Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office, police undercover operation targeting online child sex predators leads to arrests

On January 14, 2020, the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office along with the Rockwall Police Department initiated a three-day undercover operation targeting on-line child sex predators.

Detectives went online and within a very short period of time, received solicitations and sexually explicit images from men wanting to meet for the purpose of engaging in inappropriate sexual activity with someone they believed to be a minor.

The hard work of our detectives, along with those from Homeland Security Investigations, Texas Department of Public Safety, Collin County Sheriff’s Office, Wylie Police Department, and the Attorney General’s Office resulted in the arrest of five offenders. Detectives are seeking warrants for at least four additional suspects for Online Solicitation of a Minor. Additional charges may include possession of child pornography, solicitation of a minor, weapons and narcotics charges.

The targeting of children is a nationwide issue, and this serves as a reminder that our communities must remain vigilant to protect the most vulnerable from exploitation. The success of this operation is testimony to the hard work and dedication of law enforcement officers who continuously strive to protect our children and our communities each and every day.
