Beyond the Golden Door: Rockwall Breakfast Rotary welcomes Ali Master

(ROCKWALL, TX) The Rockwall Breakfast Rotary was pleased to have Ali Master as their speaker February 18. Ali is a former Shia Muslim from Pakistan and shared the understanding of America’s freedoms from a Muslim immigrant’s perspective.

Ali came to America for an education and worked his way through the university as an employee of McDonalds. Today he is a partner with Ernst & Young, where he has been for the past 25 years. He became an American citizen in 2002 and he and his wife Judy moved to Rockwall in 2007 and have four wonderful children.

In his book, Beyond the Golden Door, Ali describes overcoming the Muslim misconceptions of Americans and the five freedoms that have made such an impact on his life: Freedom to Fail; Freedom to Love; Freedom of Religion; Freedom to Build; Freedom to Self-Govern.

“You must decide what bravery looks like for you. But decide you must. Our mutual freedom depends on the collective acts of day-to-day heroism by people like you and me.” (Beyond the Golden Door, P188)
