Packed with love: Lake Pointe Church community helps ensure no kid goes hungry during school shutdown
(ROCKWALL, TX – March 14, 2020) Lake Pointe Church volunteers have been busy this afternoon collecting drive-thru food donations, running them inside to be sorted, assembled and packed up to make sure kids are fed during extended Spring Break.

Lake Pointe’s website says, “As a church we will be here to meet the needs of our community, and here is how you can help! Every Sunday during this season, in order to help feed the children of the DFW area who will be without meals as schools close, we need you to bring the following supplies to any of our campuses between 2-5 pm.” Requested items included canned pasta, peanut butter and jelly, mac and cheese, snack bars, crackers, canned fruit, and hand soap.”

Rockwall ISD is offering a Grab’N’Go lunch and snack free to all children 18 years old and younger and all SPED program students this week. Two distribution locations will serve students: Howard Dobbs Elementary School, located at 901 Interurban Street, and Amanda Rochell Elementary, located at 899 Rochell Drive. Both sites will serve students from 11am -1pm March 16-20.
