Royse City ISD announces summer reopening plan

(ROYSE CITY, TX – June 1, 2020) Educators and all other staff in Royse City ISD are eager to safely reopen for the summer months. We will continue to practice social distancing and cleaning measures to the highest extent possible as we prepare for the 2020-2021 school year.

As of June 1, 2020, staff at the administration building will work on a block schedule with various departments present on Mondays and Wednesdays and others on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you must visit the administration office, please verify that the individuals you need to speak to are on site. The front desk will be open Monday to Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. As always, you can email communityrelations@rcsid.org if you are unsure of who to contact within Royse City ISD. We will gladly connect you accordingly.

EDP Summer Camp

EDP Summer Camp will not operate this summer. We apologize for this unavailability.

Summer Athletic Youth Camps Closed Through July 10

Royse City ISD summer athletic youth camps are cancelled through July 10, 2020. Information of possible future athletic youth camps will be released before Friday, July 10, 2020.

Athletic Facilities Remain Closed for Public

All Royse City ISD facilities remain closed to the public due to COVID-19, including facility rentals, playgrounds and tracks.

Limited Athletic Facilities Open Per UIL/TEA Guidelines for Student-Athletes

In alignment with the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Summer Strength and Condition Sports Specific Training Guidelines, Royse City ISD will limit athletic facility use and student participation to Royse City ISD student-athletes only. We will continue to monitor state, local, and governmental guidelines for future openings. More information will be issued soon on this.

Elementary School Hours

Parents can expect phones to be answered starting June 1-17 from 8:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Monday to Thursdays. Please make an appointment for any in-person visits in advance.

Middle School Hours

Parents can expect phones to be answered starting June 1-17 from 8:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Monday to Thursdays. Please make an appointment for any in-person visits in advance. Please note that Summers Middle School is nearing completion of construction and will open the office asap.

High School Hours

Parents can expect phones to be answered starting June 1-17 from 8:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Monday to Thursdays. Please make an appointment for any in-person visits in advance.

Plans for August 2020

At this time, Royse City ISD plans to open school as planned on August 13. A robust reopening task force has been assembled to study various aspects of school in the event of continued COVID-19 impacts. Royse City ISD is committed to safely reopening and continued preparedness for all scenarios in 2020-2021. Task force committees will meet throughout June to develop and recommend plans to administration.
