ROCKWALL, TX (August 19, 2021) In 2012, Taylor Johnson made a decision to become an entrepreneur and start Hazel and Olive. That journey began by clipping coupons in her tiny apartment until she had saved up $300, and with that bought her first batch of women’s clothing to sell online. Her inspiration, and the name of the business came from her great grandmother, Hazel Olive, who taught her everything about fashion and passed down her love of sewing to Taylor.
Taylor was determined to create a business that provided the best customer service, low pricing and great quality all in one place. In the infancy of the business she would work 18 hour days, hand write each address on packages, then load up her bike trailer with her toddler and packages and ride to the post office to ship the orders out.
Within six months of launching hazelandolive.com, she had achieved over 1M in sales. At that point, she knew she had something special. Since then, the business has grown into something she could have never imagined.
This year, Taylor accomplished one of her dreams since starting her company, and that was making the Inc 5000 fastest growing companies list – and she didn’t just make it on the list; her company was in the top 1,000 fastest growing companies, ranking #771!
Hazel and Olive prides itself on employing a staff of women who strive to make a difference in not only their industry but in the lives every one of their over 290,000 customers.
