This PNO is in addition to the Rockwall Y’s regular PNO which is offered at no additional cost to those with family memberships on the second Friday of every month.
Swim laps and help raise money to support Rockwall YMCA programs providing children with a safe place to learn, grow and have fun. Make a pledge based on the amount of lengths you plan to swim during the event (1 length = 25m lap; 66 lengths = 1 mile). Pledges can be made with a credit card, check or cash. How fast can you run a mile while drinking beer? Find out at the St. Paddy’s Beer Mile! Participants will drink a beer every quarter mile during this mile-long race. Prizes for the top male and female finishers! Must be 21 or older to participate. Remember to DRINK RESPONSIBLY – please designate a driver before the event. Beer, snacks and t-shirt included.
The Big Event Rockwall County is a one-day community service event starting with a rally and food at San Jacinto Plaza. Projects ranging from new landscaping to painting, staining and paving concrete are already submitted. The entire community is invited to participate and volunteer. The project serves local non-profits, residents unable to maintain their property and other parks and properties within Rockwall County. This traditional ceremony held annually by the Rockwall County A&M Club includes dinner, a chance to meet some local Aggies, and special guest speaker Robert Griggs, Class of ’71 and Peabody Award-winning reporter. A traditional Muster ceremony will follow.

Children’s Relief International is hosting its 11th annual Green Door 5K/10K and 1 mile Fun Run at Harry Meyers Park. Enjoy live music, bounce houses, photo booths, face painting and more. The race will raise funds for CRI’s Green Door Housing program in Uganda. The program builds brick homes for South Sudanese refugees living in Uganda’s Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement, where many do not have safe, secure housing.

Second Annual Texas Pie Fest featuring a pie eating contest; pie baking contest; Pie-n-Face 4 Charity; bounce house; live music and a car show! New this year will be pie tasting, where guests can purchase a $10 ticket on site to sample all of the pies in the pie baking contest and vote for the winner. Entrance fee is $5 per person or five canned foods for donation per person. Tickets will be sold online and at the door.
