Traveling Art Exhibition cruises into Rockwall July 28

(ROCKWALL, TX — July 24, 2017) Join Free Expression Artists in welcoming award-winning artist Bonnie Blue and her traveling art gallery for an Exhibition of Art on Friday, July 28.

The event will be held at The Studios at Rockwall Salon Spa Boutique (102 S. Goliad St.) from 7 p.m.-9:30 p.m. Come enjoy your Friday night in the old Rockwall Square as the nationwide caricature artist Bonnie Blue – who was featured on The Ellen DeGeneres Show – will be in town to display her traveling art gallery and offer personal caricatures.

The event is hosted by local business owner and member of HACK and Art Car Artist Lisa Cauble, and will feature:

*Live art performances with door prizes every 15 minutes.

*Women Rock” art car with over 100 different rock art for sale

*Door prizes every 30 minutes

*Raffle tickets

*Frozen lemonade and fresh-popped popcorn

*Sample iced cold local favorites by Sterling Tea of Rockwall

Bonnie founded her “Women That Rock” caricature art business in 2001 while on vacation in the Texas hill country. As she walked along the Blanco River, she began to take notice of the river rocks and started visualizing women’s faces on the rocks. She began collecting rocks and painting the faces of famous women on them, adding a date and a name and selling the rock caricatures in her shop. Her rock caricatures soon became a hit, and to this day she has created and sold well over 6,000 Women That Rock.

The next year in 2002, Bonnie created the “Woman Rock Artcar,” a mobile gallery stocked with merchandise which she takes from show to show plying her wares and painting caricatures on rocks for people all over the country. Bonnie and the Women Rock Artcar have visited many states throughout the country and participated in countless shows and parades.

“It’s always nice to bring my art and art car to different cities and venues for people to see. The art car always brings smiles to people’s faces. It’s art on the move, for everyone to enjoy,” Bonnie said.

Following the art exhibit, folks are invited to join members of the Houston Art Car Club, Lisa Cauble, Bonnie Blue, Kevin Milsap of KATC Automotive in Rockwall, and friends for an Art Car & Hot Rod cruise in downtown at 9:30 p.m.

Supporters and fellow artists will have their Hot Rods and Art Cars in the parking lot from 7:00 until the Street Cruise at 9:30pm.
