National Charity League Class of 2016 honored at Senior Presentation

(ROCKWALL, TX — April 21, 2016) The Lone Star Chapter of National Charity League, Inc. (NCL) honored the members of the graduating class of 2016 on Saturday, April 2, for their successful completion of the NCL experience and requirements along with their commitment to the organization and the community. Highlights of the celebratory formal event, which was held at the Omni Dallas Hotel and attended by 640 people, included individual presentation of each girl and her accomplishments, dinner and dancing, complete with the father-daughter waltz.

Senior Presentation is a time-honored tradition which serves as the finale to six years of learning and charitable endeavors. “I was privileged to serve as the master of ceremonies honoring these 24 beautiful young women and I continue to be amazed by them each year,” said Dee Young, Lone Star Chapter president. “They have spent 6 years serving our community and leading among peers and I look forward to seeing the difference they make in the next chapter of their lives.”

NCL is a non-profit organization comprised of mothers and daughters, with membership beginning when the girls are in seventh grade and continuing through their senior year in high school. Currently, there are 213 chapters and 58,000 members across the United States. The Lone Star Chapter was chartered in 1983 as the first chapter in the state of Texas and has grown to almost 350 members. The mission of NCL is to foster mother-daughter relationships in a philanthropic organization committed to community service, leadership development and cultural experiences. The program facilitates sharing the joy of helping others, participation in meaningful activities and friendship, while growing together. The young women of this class, along with their mothers, have collectively given more than 6,000 hours to Rockwall County philanthropies during their tenure.
