(ROCKWALL, TX – May 28, 2016) The City of Rockwall presented a free, commemorative Memorial Day concert Friday, May 27 at the Harbor Amphitheater.
The concert featured The Rockwall Community Band directed by Mike McGill for the second year in a row. Rockwall High School students sang solos and read 27 real letters from soldiers to the crowd. Rockwall Mayor Jim Pruitt opened the concert and Gary Freedman narrated through the program’s five performance elements: Letters Home, Courage in Battle, The Ultimate Sacrifice, The Call of Duty and The Horror of War. The concert ended with “Armed Forces, Pride of America” to honor audience members who have served in the military.
