(ROCKWALL, TX — May 23,2016) The HSAA Water Polo Angels were honored for their accomplishments in their most successful season to date at the HSAA All Sports Spring Banquet held May 16th at the Richardson Civic Center. The 2016 season saw the HSAA Boys take 1st place at the North Texas Consolidated High School Championships and the HSAA Girls placing 2nd at the same tournament.
The Spring Banquet honors individual accomplishments for each team. Earning honors for the HSAA Boys for 2016 are as follows:
Newcomer of the Year – Micah Wolff
Most Improved Player – Isaac McDaniel
Offense Player of the Year – Marshall Garrett
Defense Player of the Year – Sean Fletcher
Most Valuable Player – Kyle Fletcher
The HSAA Girls earning honors were:
Newcomer of the Year – Nicole Bruner
Most Improved Player – Rose Voltin
Offense Player of the Year – Lydiah Almeter
Defense Player of the Year – Ella Malone
Most Valuable Player – Dani Sullivan
Every year, HSAA honors one male and one female athlete for their sportsmanship as well as their off field community involvement. This year’s Hendricks Sportsmanship Award was given to Dani Sullivan. Her leadership on her water polo team and hard work with the Rowlett Tornado Relief program makes her a worthy recipient of such an award.
