(FORNEY, TX — June 25, 2016) The Forney City Council formerly approved a Conditional Use Permit for the Forney Arts Council to add a Farmers Market to their 2nd Saturday Artisan market. The Second Saturday Market is a small shopping event that highlights local and other artisans than create handmade gift and home items.
“With the popularity of the farm to table movement we thought a Farmers Market in downtown Forney made a lot of sense.” said FAC Chairman Tiffany Wyndam, “We would like to thank the Forney City Council and the Downtown Business Association for their support in this project. We are going to try to make Forney proud.”
The Forney Arts Council is currently inviting farmers and producers from the area to participate. The next 2nd Saturday will be held on July 9th from 9AM-2PM at 210 E. Broad Street by the Old Cotton Gin.
