Yellowjacket seniors accept diplomas

(ROCKWALL, TX—June 8, 2016)—Rockwall High School seniors donned their caps and gowns and crossed into a new stage of life yesterday at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland.

Rockwall ISD Superintendent Jeff Bailey spoke to his last RHS graduating class before his upcoming retirement and introduced the new superintendent, John Villerreal. Principals from each elementary school attended and stood with their former students, and RHS Principal Courtney Gober addressed the crowd with his speech “More Than a Selfie.”

The Class of 2016 Valedictorian was Tara McCoy, the Salutatorian was Mikaela Waslien, and the Senior Class President was Kaleb Moore.

At the end of the ceremony, Choir President Thomas James led the Yellowjacket graduates in their Alma Mater as they proudly held up their “stingers” for the last time.
