(ROCKWALL, TX — Sept. 13, 2016) First Presbyterian Church of Rockwall, located at 602 White Hills Drive, will hold the Blessing of the Animals on the front lawn of the church, Sunday, Oct. 2, from 2-3:30 p.m. All types of animals are invited! In past years, Pastor Cheryl Taylor has blessed dogs, cats, chickens and even lizards. Horse owners are invited to drive through the front circle with a horse trailer. The event is being held in honor of St. Francis who cared for all of God’s creatures.
Assisting Pastor Taylor will be the youth of First Presbyterian Church, First Christian Church and Holy Trinity by the Lake Episcopal Church who will be providing treats and water for the animals. In addition, Rockwall Pets will be holding an Adopt-a-Pet in conjunction with the blessing, and the Rockwall K-9 unit and Patriot Paws will be on-hand to meet the public. This is an opportunity for everyone to see their animal companions in the light of the God who created them, to give thanks for the love God shares through them, and to celebrate this love with others who cherish their animals.
