Rockwall ISD holds groundbreaking for Elementary School 14

(ROCKWALL, TX — Nov. 15, 2016) Rockwall ISD held a groundbreaking ceremony for Elementary School 14 on Wednesday, November 9.  The new school is scheduled to open in August 2017.

“It is with great pride that we celebrate today’s groundbreaking ceremony for our school district and community but most importantly for the children who will soon walk its halls,” said Dr. John Villarreal, superintendent of Rockwall ISD.

In attendance were Rockwall ISD Board of Trustees, Rockwall ISD staff, members of Stantec Architects, members of NorthStar Builders and community members. Also in attendance were officials representing the following groups: Lori Grinnan from Congressman John Ratcliffe’s office, Mayor Berry from the City of Heath, Rockwall County Commissioner Lee Gilbert, Dana Macalik and Mike Mishler from Rockwall Chamber of Commerce and Sheri Franza from Rockwall Economic Development Corporation.

Elementary School 14 is a facility design of spaces and classrooms in a proven arrangement utilizing natural light, durable materials and vibrant colors to inspire learning. The facility is approximately 92,000 square feet.
