(ROCKWALL, TX — Feb. 28, 2017) Nebbie Williams Elementary School held its 4th Annual Nebbie Science Fair hosted by the Nebbie PTA and The CORE Rockwall. Student science fair projects were judged during the day and the science exhibition and awards ceremony took place in the evening and was open to the public.
There were a total of twenty-seven students who participated in the science fair, from kindergarten to sixth grade. The students each took turns explaining their projects to the panel of three judges, with the judges asking questions and the young scientists answering them in detail.
The science projects ranged from experiments with gummy bears and shoes to ones featuring electricity, chemistry, and physics. “I thought it was a good idea to do it, since I did it last year,” said Hawkin Mattke, a second grader at Nebbie. “My favorite part was the experiment. I really liked when the coca-cola blasted up. I think other people should do it because it is fun. You get to do a lot of experiments, it is scientific, and VERY fun!”
