Rockwall ISD CFO named TASBO board president

(ROCKWALL, TX — Feb. 28, 2017) At the 2017 TASBO Annual Conference in Austin, Rockwall ISD Chief Financial Officer Randy McDowell will be sworn in as the President of the Board of Directors for the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO). McDowell currently serves as President-Elect at TASBO and has been on the TASBO board for five years.

TASBO members selected McDowell as its Vice President during the 2015 Annual Conference. TASBO employs an officer succession model whereby the Vice President ascends to the role of President. Randy had previously served a three-year term on the TASBO Board.

“Randy has provided steady leadership as a board member and officer,” said TASBO Executive Director Tracy Ginsburg, Ed.D. “We are confident he will do a great job as President and continue TASBO’s tradition of exemplary leadership.”

McDowell was first elected to the board during his tenure as Assistant Superintendent of Business and Operations for Canyon ISD. In 2015, he was named Chief Financial Officer for Rockwall ISD. He has 25 years’ experience in school finance and operations.
