(ROCKWALL, TX — June 5, 2017) Rockwall Texans Youth Sports, the Cheerleaders of Williams Middle School, Former Dallas Cowboys Defense End, Tony Tolbert, all had one thing in common recently… giving back to the Rockwall Community!
On Saturday, April 29, Rockwall Texans Youth Sports teamed up with the Williams Middle School Cheerleaders to host a FREE Mini Cheer Camp and Food Drive in support of the North Texas Food Bank. Over 100 children cheered loud and proud for a great cause and donated over 400 cans of food to help fight hunger across North Texas! Sponsors for the event were Cheerleading.com, Mesquite Sports Center, Skin Envy of Rockwall, and Legends Gym of Rockwall.
But the Rockwall Texans Competitive Football and Cheer Organization didn’t stop there …
Two weeks later, the coaches of RTYS teamed up with Former Dallas Cowboys Defense End, Tony Tolbert, to host a FREE Football Skills Camp in support of Arms of Hope where loads of gently used clothing and shoes were donated to help disadvantaged children and single-mother families in our area. Rockwall Sports Center helped to sponsor the 2017 RTYS football camp.
“There is power is numbers.” Keith Flowers, President of RTYS and Megan Flowers, RTYS Cheer Director believes. “If we can utilize our youth-based organization to bring the Rockwall community together in support of a greater cause, then that is exactly what we intend to do.”
Rockwall Texans Youth Sports is a 100 percent nonprofit organization that focuses on community spirit and community involvement, with a mission to develop strong athletes, future leaders, and good, honest people. As a select football and cheerleading program, the Rockwall Texans pride themselves in advancing children’s athletic skillsets while teaching the importance of giving back and being a role model on and off the field.
