(ROCKWALL, TX — August 25, 2017) Lou Crouch, Director, of the English as a Second Language (ESL) Program, and Volunteers, attended ESL Training at First Baptist Church (FBC)- Rockwall. ESL Instructors were trained through Literacy ConneXus, Ft. Worth, Texas; Teaching English with Excellence (TEX).
FBC invites all people groups and religions in the Lake Ray Hubbard area to participate in their ESL program. Pre-registration is on Wednesday, August 29, from 6:30 -8:00 PM, at FBC, 610 S. Goliad, Rockwall. Late registration will be on the first day of class, Wednesday, September 13.
Enrollment is limited on a first come, first served basis. The following classes begin WEDNESDAY NIGHT, SEPTEMBER 13: Conversation: 5:15-6:00; Fellowship and Door Prize: 6:00 – 6:15. All other classes: Basic Computer Skills (for qualifying students), Newcomer, Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Classes are from 6:15 – 8:00 PM. The Fall Semester cost is $5 for Registration, and $25 for the students’ books, and may be paid in four payments. Children’s Church Choir, and Mission Group Activities will be provided for Pre-K through 6th grade. Older Grades may attend the Wednesday Night Youth Group, Journey. All children must be registered, by their parent, during ESL Registration.
Adult students will learn language skills, in inter-active classes, that improve English proficiency, study skills, and skills beneficial for everyday life. For more information, call First Baptist Church at 972.771.8459.
