(ROCKWALL, TX — September 27, 2017) On Friday, Nov. 10, Rockwall County veterans will be offered free dental care at the first ever “D-Day (Dental Day) for V-Day (Veterans Day)” in the Lowrance Clinic (1350 Summer Lee Dr.). Dr. Stan Lowrance, long time Rockwall practitioner, believes dentists need to step up and help veterans, as the VA only offers dental care for veterans who meet their service connected disability thresholds. Dr. Lowrance’s entire practice and other volunteers will turn out to honor and thank Rockwall County veterans.
The Lowrance Clinic will partner with Rockwall’s Terry Fisher American Legion Post 117 to roll out services to the veteran community. “D-Day for V-Day is my way of thanking veterans for guaranteeing our freedom,” said Lowrance. “I hope we can expand this idea to other Texas counties and indeed the nation.”
Treatment will consist of an exam followed by either a cleaning or first line dental procedure, such as a filling or extraction. Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 17, veterans can make reservations by calling the American Legion representative at (972) 762-7685. This service is for veterans only, so please bring a photo ID showing a Rockwall County address and appropriate veterans documentation (Legion membership card, VA card, DD-214, military ID card or other photo ID with veterans notation).
