Pullen Elementary kicks off Watch D.O.G.S. program with pizza party

(ROCKWALL, TX — September 29, 2017) Pullen Elementary School kicked off their campus Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program Sept. 21 with lots dads and students, plus pizza! Approximately 75 fathers and students were in attendance for an introduction to the program. Watch D.O.G.S. is a national initiative bringing fathers and father figures into the school and classroom, supporting education and safety.

Husband and wife team, Ben and Meredith Fox, coordinate the program on the Pullen Elementary campus, along with assistance from the faculty and staff. “Male role models are so crucial to the positive development of our young people today,” says Meredith Fox. “The students absolutely love getting a high-five at the front door from a Watch DOG, starting their day off with a smile.” Teachers also appreciate the extra help in the classroom. Providing an extra set of eyes and ears, Watch D.O.G.S can enhance campus security and reduce bullying.

The Pizza party and kick-off event allowed an opportunity for dads to sign up for a day, or multiple days, to volunteer their time on campus during the year. To learn more about Watch D.O.G.S., visit www.fathers.com/watchdogs.
