Rockwall Chamber gifts $1000 to Meals on Wheels

(ROCKWALL, TX – December 11, 2017) The Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce kicked off its Holiday Partnership Luncheon on Dec. 6 by presenting a portion of the proceeds from its La Tee Da event in the amount of $1,000 to local nonprofit Meals on Wheels.

On Nov. 30, the Chamber’s Professional Women’s Alliance hosted a La Tee Da Ladies Night Out at Hidden Creek Events Center, where ladies were treated to a night of champagne service from local celebrity gentlemen, holiday shopping from local vendors and pampering stations featuring mini manicures, massages, holiday hair and more. Chamber members then voted on a local nonprofit to receive a portion of the night’s proceeds.

“I want to thank everyone for voting for Meals on Wheels, so that together we can provide these crucial services for the seniors,” said Margie VerHagen, executive director of Meals on Wheels. “This $1,000 will go directly to our nutrition program. We are going to proudly provide 4,300 meals for the month of December, and this will help sustain the cost.”

Attendees of the luncheon, presented by Honda Cars of Rockwall, enjoyed holiday shopping from local vendors and a performance by the Rockwall-Heath High School Jazz Band.
