Big Hats and Bubbly with Rockwall Women’s League

(ROCKWALL, TX—February 2, 2018) Rockwall Women’s League brought out the bubbly and hung their hats on another ever-popular annual fundraiser event: The Big Hat Affair. This year’s ladies brunch was themed “Big Hats and Bubbly” and featured a silent auction, dessert fun and games, and of course, plenty of enormous headwear.

Ladies were treated to fresh fruit and chicken salad for brunch, followed by a “dessert auction.” Each table could opt to keep their designated dessert or “steal” a dessert from one of the other tables in this White Elephant/Dirty Santa style game. With so many beautifully decorated and delicious desserts to choose from, there were no losers.

Entertainment included a cocktail mixing demonstration and a live performance by Rockwall High School’s Walk the Line choir.

After ladies voted on their favorite hats, the festivities concluded as winners were announced:
Best Big Hat – Jessica Metts
Best Tiny Hat – Sasha Stubblefield
Dazzling Diva – Vida Valk
True to Theme – Laine Duke
Most Creative – Janet Bowyer

Proceeds from ticket sales and silent auction items will benefit local non-profit organizations and college scholarships for high school seniors.
