(ROCKWALL, TX — February 5, 2018) Rockwall resident Trace Johannesen announces he will run for Place 4 on the Rockwall City Council in the upcoming May 5 election.
“I proudly volunteer to continue my service to Rockwall by running for City Council in Place 4 this May. I look forward to meeting even more Rockwallians and learning more about our wonderful community. I am excited to further Rockwall’s economic development and to maintain the family-oriented, small-town feel we all enjoy; while demonstrating to our youth what it means to give back.”
Johannesen serves on Rockwall’s Architectural Review Board, leads communications for the Terry Fisher American Legion Post 117, is a partner in the Chamber of Commerce, founding member of the Chamber’s Rockwall Veterans Business Alliance (RVBA), founding member of 100 Business Leaders of Rockwall County, member of Rockwall County Republican Men’s Club, volunteer for RHS Stingerettes and for RHS Walk the Line Choir.
Following the terrorist attacks in September 2001, he left his job to enlist as a fourth-generation US Marine. He attained the rank of Sergeant in the infantry and returned a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom with five years total active duty. He graduated from Texas A&M University as a member of the Corps of Cadets and the Aggie Band.
Today, Johannesen leads strategy and technology consultants for Slalom, a purpose-driven consulting firm. He lives in Rockwall with his wonderful wife Amy – a Rockwall County small-business owner – and children Kassidy, Joshua and Cash.
