(ROCKWALL, TX – April 10, 2018) During its regular meeting on Tuesday, April 10, Rockwall County Commissioners Court recognized Sergeant Glenn Hill with the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office and Suzanne Smith with the Rockwall County Criminal District Attorney’s Office as the Employees of the First Quarter 2018.

Hill was nominated by the Sheriff’s Office for his heroic actions in helping to apprehend a pair of suspected burglars attempting to flee police in a high-speed chase on the freeway from Dalrock Road to Royse City.

“Without hesitation, Sergeant Hill disregarded his own personal safety by blocking the vehicle from attempting to make u-turns at a high speed on the freeway. With his action and leadership, we brought the crime spree to an end,” said Chief Deputy David Goelden of the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office.

Smith has been with the D.A.’s Office for about a year but has already made a great mark in her role as a Discovery clerk, leading the task of creating and implementing electronic discovery.

“We are tasked with giving all of the information to defense lawyers so that they can know about the case,” said Rockwall County Criminal District Attorney Kenda Culpepper. “But that information has ballooned. It is a gigantic task, and obviously our caseload has increased. Suzie came in and the creative nature that she is, she took on the task of creating and implementing electronic discovery and she has done a phenomenal job.”

“On behalf of the Commissioners Court, we want to congratulate these two individuals. Handing out these awards like we’re able to do is just a small token of our appreciation for all the hard work that you do for the citizens of Rockwall County,” said County Judge David Sweet.
