(ROCKWALL, TX — May 15, 2018) Over 190 people attended the 2nd Annual REF Bowling Classic, presented by Park Place Motorcars Dallas, in support of the Rockwall ISD Education Foundation, Inc. The tournament raised over $26,000 through team registrations, sponsorships and silent auction sales making it even more successful than last year’s event.
The 24 teams competed for bragging rights along with one of four awards presented at the conclusion of the event: “Grand Champion” and “Most Stylish Attire” were awarded to the Frisky Flamingos, “Most Creative Team Name” went to the Striking Teachers from Billie Stevenson Elementary and the Strike It Like It’s Hot team, from Rod Holland Real Estate, took home the “First Place Loser” trophy.
“After the success of last year’s tournament, the REF’s board realized we’re offering an event that’s unique to our community and is the perfect combination of fun, fellowship and philanthropy. We’re incredibly grateful to all the sponsors and silent auction donors who played a major role in the success of the tournament, especially our friends at Park Place Motorcars Dallas for being the presenting sponsor”, said Ashlei Neill, Executive Director of the Education Foundation. Last year’s Grand Champion team captain, Jared Schweers, owner of Key Element Media in Rockwall, wasn’t a repeat trophy-winner but still enjoyed the event, “The Education Foundation Bowling Classic is a fun night of fierce competition and socializing benefiting our students in Rockwall ISD. The atmosphere is great and I am already looking forward to competing next year.”
Along with Park Place Motorcars Dallas, other sponsors of the event included Baylor Scott & White, Farmers Electric Cooperative, K&S Insurance, Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson LLC, Oncor, PBK Architects, Special Products & Manufacturing, Atmos Energy, Hudson Financial Group, Rest Haven Funeral Home and Southwest Kia.

The 3rd Annual REF Bowling Classic will take place mid-spring 2019.
