(ROCKWALL, TX — July 9, 2018) Rockwall Summer Musicals will present Meredith Willson’s classic musical The Music Man directed by Barbara Doubt August 10 – 19, 2018 at the Rockwall Performing Arts Center (1201 T L Townsend Drive, Rockwall, TX 75087). Tickets cost between $18-$22 and can be purchased at the Box Office or online at rockwallsummermusicals.org.
In this beloved family show, Professor Harold Hill shakes up a quiet Midwest town by posing as a band leader and selling instruments to naive Iowa townsfolk. The con artist is no musician and plans to skip town without making good on the music lessons that he’s been paid for. Prim piano teacher Marian sees right through him, but when Harold helps her younger brother overcome his lisp and social awkwardness, Marian begins to fall for him. Will Harold risk everything to be with her?
The Broadway sensation won five Tony awards and ran for 1,375 performances. Enjoy the classic songs such as “76 Trombones,” “The Wells Fargo Wagon,” and “Gary, Indiana” as performed by Rockwall Summer Musicals’ live orchestra directed by Melissa Williams. Find out how it all plays out this summer at Rockwall Summer Musicals.
