(ROCKWALL, TX — Sept. 24, 2018) Local at-home moms are invited to join the MOMS Club of Rockwall for its Open House event on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 10 a.m. at Yellowjacket Park (located off Yellowjacket Lane behind Hobby Lobby). Enjoy coffee and donuts as well as fun raffle prizes while learning what the MOMS Club of Rockwall is all about.
The Rockwall Chapter of the International MOMS Club is one of the largest and fastest growing nonprofit organizations exclusively committed to supporting at-home and part time working moms living in Rockwall, Heath, Fate and McLendon-Chisholm. Membership Vice President Chelsea Acree said the Rockwall club has grown its membership to over 50 at-home and working moms.
“Our club is just a nice way to get moms together to talk to each other, support one another, make friendships and form bonds,” Acree said.
Each week, the club hosts two to three play dates where moms can socialize and have fun together. No need to worry about hiring a sitter for the kids – moms can bring their children to just about every MOMS Club event! The play dates are held anywhere from local parks to the homes of members, as well as field trips to exciting venues such as the Dallas Zoo and the beautiful Dallas Arboretum. All club events take place during the daytime, when moms typically need the most support.
Members meet each month to vote on club business and have a MOMS Night Out, where moms can bond with one another through fun activities like enjoying live music at the San Jacinto Music Plaza on the Downtown Rockwall Square.
Each year the club gives back to moms and kids in need through service projects. Last year the group donated to national nonprofit Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, an organization inspiring grassroots bake sales to raise funds for cancer research projects. The MOMS Club of Rockwall also participates in a Day of Kindness, where they pitch in on community service projects such as cleaning up a local park.
The club has become a true sisterhood for many of its members. MOMS Club of Rockwall members keep in touch and support each other in between play dates, providing a listening ear, a helping hand and meal trains for new moms during times of need.
“I think what moms most enjoy about the club is getting to have friends who are at their same stage in life,” Acree said. “Becoming a mom can be one of the most exciting and scary things to ever happen in your life, so for our new moms it’s great for them to be able to socialize with other moms in the area and have that support.”
MOMS Club of Rockwall invites those interested in joining to attend two events to determine if the club is the right fit for you and your family. To attend an event visit www.meetup.com/MOMSClubofRockwallTX/ and click on the “Request to join” tab.
