Lady Jackets Finish Strong in Flower Mound Tourney

(ROCKWALL, TX — Nov. 19, 2018) The Rockwall Lady Jackets had a full weekend of basketball to start out their Thanksgiving holiday in the Flower Mound Tournament. Their first opponent was Canyon Randall on Thursday evening. The Lady Jackets started off strong winning 64-36. In this game, Jordan Mathis led the team with 23 points followed by Emma Stelzer with 13. On Friday, the Lady Jackets had to face off against a strong Plano East. The Lady Jackets led the entire game until Plano East tied it up with less than a minute left. With six seconds left on the clock, Plano East hit a contested 3 to win 40-37.

On Saturday morning, the Lady Jackets regrouped from the heartbreaker and defeated Denton Guyer 56-42. Mikki Witcher had 16 points, with 12 points originating from 3’s, as well as taking two charges. Jordan Mathis followed with 13 points, Emma Stelzer with 11 points, and Jada Stull scoring 10 points. The fifth place game was held at 2pm and the Lady Jackets came to fight for the win. The entire game was back and forth but the team got their second wind to pull ahead to win 34-28, for fifth place. Jordan Mathis had a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards. Jordan Mathis received an all-tournament award.

They continue their season tomorrow afternoon for our parent game versus Frisco Reedy with freshman starting 10am, JV at 11:30, and Varsity at 1pm.
