Rockwall High School Robotics Wraps Gifts for Rainbow Room

Rockwall High School Robotics Wraps Gifts for Rainbow Room
RHS Robotics students Eva Kay Stewart and Austin Taylor wrap gifts for the Rainbow Room.

(ROCKWALL, TX — December 12, 2018) The Rainbow Room in Rockwall works with the Department of Family Protection Services, to provide essential items and gifts to children in need. During the holiday season, children in their care create a Christmas wish list. Community members select a child’s wishlist, shop for the child and donate gifts to the Rainbow Room, that are then distributed to the children. Rockwall High’s Robotics Team, Full Metal Jackets, heard about the Rainbow Room from one of our mentors and wanted help. Our team members along with other volunteers from the community, wrapped gifts and built bicycles that were previously donated for the 150+ children in need.

Full Metal Jackets also help domestic violence victims by collecting old cell phones for Secure the Call.  If you would like to donate old cell phones, drop off locations are Rockwall High, Dr. Gene Burton College & Career Academy, Rockwall Makerspace and Rockwall Police Department.

Full Metal Jacket students believe in giving back and have volunteered an average of 54 hours per student per year since 2016. To find out more about the team, and their initiatives, visit www.rockwallrobotics.com.
