3rd Annual Ben Parks Golf-A-Thon in June Benefits Rockwall Youth

(ROCKWALL, TX — April 2, 2019) An exclusive event in June offers golfers in Rockwall an opportunity to honor a local hero and make a difference in the lives of youth at the same time. The 3rd Annual Ben Parks Golf-A-Thon Fore Kids is coming up on June 3rd, 2019 benefitting the Rockwall branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Texas. An avid golfer, Ben Parks dedicated his life to teaching young men and women life values by using the game of golf. We are proud to present this event and program in partnership with the Parks’ family and with some of Ben’s own mentees. To honor Parks’ positive legacy, this event focuses on fun rather than the spirit of competition.

Unlike traditional golf tournaments, this event is limited to 30 participants, who each commit to raise at least $1,000 for the Boys & Girls Club. A fun and laid back event, this golf outing is about fellowship and helping kids. Because of this, rules and golf game (e.g. scramble) are determined by individual golfer groups. No official score is kept, rather your group of 4 decides the game they want to play. Greeting you on the Par 3s, our Ben Parks First Tee kiddos will be there to putt for you on the green!

Today, because of the generous support that this event garners, the Club is proud to offer a two-part, state of the art golfing program:

During the winter months, all Boys & Girls Club members are introduced to the game of golf indoors using modified equipment. Any Club member showing aptitude or affinity for the game of Golf is invited to participate in the Ben Parks First Tee Program.

Ben Parks First Tee Program
Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Texas (Rockwall branch) partners with The First Tee of Greater Dallas and Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club to bring the Ben Parks First Tee Program to our community. This provides the opportunity for youth to be on the golf course regularly working with Golf Pros and volunteers.

Registration for this event is FREE and includes:
● Breakfast and Lunch,
● Green Fees and Cart Fees,
● A “thank you” bag that includes a shirt & a dozen golf balls, &
● Satisfaction in knowing that your efforts will help an organization that provides Great Futures for kids.

Golfers are asked to raise $1,000 in support for this program and for the mission of the Club.
