(ROCKWALL, TX — May 16, 2019) The Leadership Rockwall Class of 2019 celebrated their graduation on May 15 at the San Jacinto Plaza in downtown Rockwall.
The graduates and event guests welcomed a keynote address on leadership from Tim Moseley, restaurant operator for Chick-fil-A in Rockwall. Moseley served in many capacities for the Mesquite Police Department before taking what he described as a leap of faith, leaving his job with the police department to open a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Rockwall. He has since received numerous sales awards from the franchise, including the coveted Rookie of the Year Award given each year to one outstanding new restaurant operator.
“For the Leadership Rockwall 2019 class, if you think you have a dream or that God’s speaking to you to make a change in your life, don’t be afraid to do it,” Moseley said. “I was scared to death to leave behind the camaraderie of the police department to start a Chick-fil-A franchise here in Rockwall. But my family and I do have a lot of camaraderie with the Chick-fil-A operators; they’re like family to us. We have been so blessed to be a part of Rockwall and are so appreciative of everyone letting us be a part of the community.”
The Leadership Rockwall program also recognized its 2019 Mike Mishler Alumni of the Year, Katy Miller with Baylor Scott & White Medical Center. Miller has been named the Rockwall Chamber Ambassador of the Year and has twice received the Young Professional of the Year honors. She currently serves as the Rockwall Chamber’s chair-elect and, along with her mother-in-law Dana Macalik, is a founding member of the Young Professionals of Rockwall (YPR). She also currently serves on the YPR Board.
Leadership Rockwall Class of 2019 member Debbie Branch presented highlights of the class project: the renovation and rejuvenation of Reese Manor. For the project, the class spruced up all four floors of the housing complex for low income seniors located at 100 Lake Meadows Dr. Thanks to many in-kind donations from the community in support of the project, the Leadership Rockwall class transformed Reese Manor with new clean landings and community rooms decked out with fresh paint, new furniture, security cameras, beautiful plants and more than 40 paintings donated by Rockwall ISD art students. The Leadership Rockwall class also created an outdoor patio and sitting area for residents to relax.
On April 25, the class invited the community out to the unveiling of its project complete with a ribbon cutting, tours of the complex, and refreshments.
Lead sponsor for the project was Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall. Other project sponsors included: Allegiance Title Company, Alliance Bank, Ashley Furniture Homestore, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, Capital Title, CertaPro Painters, Everybody Massage, Green Cleaning, HomeBank Texas, Independence Title, Sherwin Williams, PPG Paints, Alarm 4 Less, Signature Signs & Graphics, Rockwall Independent School District, Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Rockwall.
