Rep. Ratcliffe Attends Lake Fannin Celebration with Local Leaders

Commends President Trump’s signing of Lake Fannin conveyance bill

(ROCKWALL, TX  – May 3, 2019) Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas) attended a celebration on April 27th to commend President Trump’s signing of his bill to restore the local control of 2,025 acres of Fannin County land. He was joined at The Lodge at Lake Fannin by a handful of state and local officials at who worked with him and his staff over the past few years ensure the bill was signed into law, as well as more than 100 attendees from the local community.

“Efforts to restore the local control of Lake Fannin have been in the works for more than 20 years here in Fannin County – and our success in crossing the finish line wouldn’t have been possible without the strong support of our dedicated state and local officials, area representatives and grassroots advocates,” Ratcliffe said.

“It was an honor to be joined by so many folks who truly care about Lake Fannin’s future, as we celebrated its renewed control by those who know it best. I look forward to seeing how the Lake Fannin conveyance law will boost the local economy, as visitors are drawn from across the region to enjoy the historic beauty of this natural gem in our community.”

Ratcliffe presents signed copies of the Lake Fannin conveyance bill to local officials

During the ceremony, Ratcliffe gave remarks about the hard work that went into authoring the bill and advocating for it to become law. He then presented a signed copy of the Lake Fannin conveyance bill to Judge Moore, Lake Fannin Volunteer President Gabe Parker and former Judge Carter to thank them for their strong support.

Other state and local representatives at the celebration included Texas State Representative Reggie Smith, County Clerk Tammy Biggers, Sheriff Mark Johnson, Sen. John Cornyn’s (R-Texas) North Texas Regional Director Collin McLochlin, State Sen. Bob Hall’s District Director John Vick, and several local county commissioners.
