(ROCKWALL, TX — September 12, 2019) The Rockwall Noon Rotary Club welcomed a presentation from the Rockwall High School Interact Club during the Rotary’s meeting this afternoon.

Interact is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young people ages 14-18. The program gives young people an opportunity to participate in fun, meaningful service projects while developing leadership skills and meeting new friends.

Interact Club President Laney Gutierrez spoke on the club’s current service projects. This year, the Interact Club has been helping to anonymously pay off lunch debt for students from low income families so that they can enjoy lunches at school. They also hope to work closely with the Poiema Foundation to help stem the tide of human trafficking in the community. The club also has gotten involved with helping families in the detention centers at the border, providing much needed supplies such as diapers and blankets.

The members of 2019-2020 Rockwall Interact Club are as follows:

Laney Gutierrez, President
Ella Dean, President (Gutierrez will graduate early this year, and Ella will take her place as President)
Marybeth Hamilton, Vice President;
Rylee Braaten, Treasurer;
Haylie Jones, Historian
