Update from Helping Hands Health Center, Assistance & Referral on COVID-19

Health Center:

“Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation and in the interest of your health and well-being, The Health Center of Helping Hands will be cancelling all non-essential appointments, such as well visits, for the foreseeable future. If you need a prescription refilled, please call the Health Center at 972-771-8194. Our staff are happy to extend any prescriptions you may currently be on until you are able to safely be seen.

When you arrive for your appointment, please stay in your car and call the main office number at 972-772-8194 to check in. When one of our Nurse Practitioners is ready for you they will call you back and ask you to come inside for your appointment.

We ask that if you have a fever and have a mask at your disposal that you please wear a mask at all times inside the Health Center unless asked to do otherwise. We will be giving out masks to those who do not have one until supplies run out.

The Health Center of Helping Hands is also unable to test for COVID-19 at this time. We are able to screen patients and if additional testing is required then we can refer you to the proper medical facility to be tested.

Assistance and Referral:

“Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation and in the interest of your health and well-being, all food and financial needs will be handled with as minimal contact as able. If you need food or financial assistance please do not leave your car once at our Assistance and Referral facility. Our staff will come to you and handle all of your needs remotely.

All classes through Helping Hands Assistance and Referral will be suspended until the end of March. The use of the Helping Hands computer lab will be on a case by case basis and clients will need to call Assistance and Referral at 972-771-4357 to get prior approval before being allowed access to the computer lab.
