(ROCKWALL, TX — April 16, 2020) The Rockwall Rotary recently donated $1,000 to the Boys & Girls Club, supporting the nonprofit’s efforts in providing valuable resources to local kids in need during the coronavirus pandemic.
With the crippling effects that the coronavirus has had on area businesses and nonprofits, the Rotary’s Youth Development Director John Curtis said Rotarians will continue to try and live by the club’s mantra of “Service Above Self”; that means supporting and serving the community in whatever way they can, especially during this time of pandemic.
“The Rotary strives to live by ‘Service Above Self’, and I think being able to make this donation to the Boys & Girls Club speaks to that,” Curtis said. “It makes perfect sense to be able to reach out and help where we can in our community.”
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Texas recently began a fundraising campaign aimed at supporting COVID-19 relief efforts in the Commerce, Greenville, and Rockwall areas. To donate to the fund and help the BGC provide vital services to at-risk youth, visit http://www.begreatnext.org/.
