Rockwall-Heath Hawks Highsteppers soar above competition in 15th anniversary season

The Rockwall-Heath Highsteppers celebrated great success in their 15th anniversary season! In the regional competition at the end of the season, Highstepper Officers took home awards for first place in Large, second place in Contemporary, second place in Lyrical, first place in Open and sixth place Overall. Junior Lieutenants Kaitlin V. and Emmy W. were solo finalists in the competition.

The Heath Highstepper Officers were the highest scoring group in the Marching Auxiliaries competition, earning the Best Overall Choreography and Technique Award; Super Sweepstakes; first place in Lyrical; first place in Contemporary; first place in Open; the Contemporary Judges Award; and first place Overall. Line Officers won the Choreography award, first place in Jazz and Sweepstakes.

As a team, the Rockwall-Heath Highsteppers earned Best Overall Choreography and Technique as well as first place in Show Production, Kick, Pom, Open and Overall.

Finishing in the top five for solos in their respective age groups were Zoe C. (4th place); Kaitlin V. (5th); Mya A. (3rd); Emmy W. (1st); and Catie A. (5th).

The team continues to stay positive as they go through this time of social distancing due to COVID-19. Recently, the Heath Highstepper Alumni delivered cookies to the seniors and team directors, as well as gift boxes with t-shirts, candy, spa products, candles and many more goodies.
