ROCKWALL, TX – August 19, 2020 — The community’s favorite day-long, IBCA-sanctioned barbecue contest will roll into Rockwall on Oct. 2-3.
In this year’s 12th Annual Rib, Rub, Run & Roll barbecue cookoff, contestants will fire up their grills to compete in four categories: Jackpot Beans, Half Chicken, Brisket, and Pork Spare Ribs.
Awards and prize money will be given to the top three contestants in the meat categories. Teams are encouraged to decorate their cook areas for a chance to win the Showman’s Award, presented to the team with the best-decorated site. A Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion will also be announced.
COVID-19 protocols will be observed during the event to ensure the health and safety of all who attend, including the requirement of all cooks and teams to wear face coverings. Folks are encouraged to maintain social distancing of at least six feet whenever possible.

Registration is now open for the Rib, Rub, Run & Roll event’s 5K, 10K and 1-Mile Fun Run. The minimum age to participate is 9 and up for the 10k, 6 and up for the 5K and no minimum age for the 1 Mile. The right to accept or reject any entry is reserved. For younger participants, please contact info@playtri.com. All entries will receive a Race T-Shirt (T.B.A.).

7:00AM Late Registration/Packet Pick Up
8:30AM 10K Start
8:45AM 5K Start
8:55AM 1 Mile Fun Run
Awards will be given to the Masters male / female in 5K and 10K and overall male / female winners in the 5K and 10K. Age group awards will be in five-year increments. Custom medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in finishers in each age group. T-shirts guaranteed to those registered by Sept. 24.
