ROCKWALL, TX – September 15, 2020 — On September 11th, Rockwall County Helping Hands celebrated its Annual Golf Tournament at Buffalo Creek Golf Course chaired by Board Members Jack Green and Gary Spraggins. Every year, Helping Hands raises awareness for Rockwall residents facing poverty, and the proceeds go to help the organization serve numerous families with emergency assistance, food needs and assistance, medical assistance, and financial crises. This tournament benefiting Rockwall County Helping Hands has consistently been a source of fun, camaraderie and a fixture as a key fundraiser for the agency.
This year, Helping Hands again hosted a “Ryder Cup” style invitational. Local businesses had a friendly competition against each other to fundraise the most by their teams to benefit the agency. American National Bank, led by Blake James and Jeremy Neill, was the top fundraising team with their team raising over $9,000. Luck was on our side with the beautiful weather, but unfortunately no one won the Hole-in-One competition, despite some great attempts. Hopefully everyone will get a chance to try again next year!
Along with the awards ceremony, door prizes were given as well as longest drive and closest to the line prizes. It was a great opportunity to share the mission and work of Rockwall County Helping Hands with our growing list of partners and community supporters.
A special thanks to these businesses for their fundraising efforts and to Green Electronic Solutions, Gary Spraggins, Buffalo Creek and Zanatas for donating amazing prizes.
