ROCKWALL, TX – October 12, 2020 — Students of Heritage Christian Academy’s secondary campus spent time sharing songs, fellowship and goodies with the senior residents at Liberty Heights Gracious Retirement Living on Oct. 9.
The students remained socially distant while bringing joy to the residents with gospel songs, snacks, candy, soda, stuffed animals, puzzles, games and flags for everyone to celebrate Veterans Day on Nov. 11. They also brought handmade cards filled with uplifting messages for the seniors.
“The songs that Heritage Christian sang were very uplifting and our resident’s hearts were full of joy! We were all overwhelmed with gratitude with all the donations,” said Julie Hart, Liberty Heights activities coordinator. “We are so grateful for the generosity that Heritage Christian Academy has shown everyone at Liberty Heights. They are a bright light to our community and we hope to see them again!”
Resident Billie Stevenson said “I put the card they made for me on my door and everyone comments how much they enjoy seeing it as they walk down the hall.”
Resident Ellen Booth said, “The students at Heritage Christian were fantastic! We all hope they come again!”
Resident Christel Ash said, “Now I have something to hug!” as she embraced the large stuffed animal dog the students gave her.
Thanks to all of the HCA students who warmed the hearts of the Liberty Heights seniors with their gifts!
