Two Heath Hawks Fishing Team alumni volunteer to teach young anglers how to fish

HEATH, TX – October 21, 2020 — This past weekend, Layton and Parker Brown of Heath volunteered their time to teach kids how to fish.

Layton and Parker – currently freshmen at Dallas Baptist University (DBU) – attended Rockwall-Heath High School and were members of the Heath Hawks fishing team. They spent the afternoon with members of the Casting Crew, a group made up of young anglers from Rockwall ISD. Layton and Parker spoke to the crew about competitive fishing, safe boating practices and lake and fish conservation.

Each semester, each DBU Athletics program participates in community service activities with the goal to advance youth sports and share the love of Christ. The Patriot Bass Fishing program has spoken to various youth fishing clubs in DFW, hoping to advance the sport while making a difference in the community.
