State Rep. Justin Holland honors memory of longtime Rockwall Sheriff’s Posse horse

ROCKWALL, TX – November 16, 2020 — The horse of Rockwall County Sheriff’s Posse member Dr. Jim Wardlaw recently passed away after nearly two decades of service. State Rep. Justin Holland, a fellow member of the Rockwall Posse, presented Wardlaw with a certificate honoring the memory of his horse – Cherokee Lady – during a regular meeting of the Posse.

The certificate reads as follows:

Extending most sincere condolences, I humbly present this certificate to Dr. Jim Wardlaw in honor of Cherokee Lady and her decades of service to the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Posse.

In the testimony whereof, I have hereunto signed my name and caused the seal of the Texas House to be affixed at the Texas Capitol House Chamber this the 9th day of November A.D., 2020.

Justin Holland (signed)
State Representative

Cherokee served the Posse for 26 years and was a favorite at Rockwall ISD elementary schools, where she and Wardlaw would often visit to teach the kids about western heritage.
