ROCKWALL, TX – December 30, 2020 — As hospitals continue to do all in their power to manage the recent surge of COVID-19 cases, Carter BloodCare reports that the blood supply for North, Central and East Texas communities remains very limited.
Carter BloodCare Vice President of Organizational Relations Moore said while the need for blood donors has always remained constant, the pandemic has further pronounced that need – especially during the holidays, when inventory is typically low due to less people donating.
“With the pandemic, we’ve been starting off every morning with less than 10 percent of the inventory supply for Group O, which is the universal blood type that hospitals need for transfusions, surgeries and other vital procedures,” Moore said.

With 25 donor centers and multiple blood drives happening each day, Carter BloodCare makes it super easy and safe to donate blood.
