Rockwall Community Playhouse announces RCP at RCP 2021 workshops

ROCKWALL, TX – December 21. 2020 — RCP is pleased to announce the RCP at RCP 2021 Workshop for grades 1st through 4th and 5th through 8th.

The workshops will provide 10-classes of curriculum on the basic elements of acting and will culminate in a performance for family and friends.

Fairy Tale Courtroom by Dana Proulx
Directed by Zoe Settle
Grades 1st through 4th – Tuesday (4:30 pm to 6:30pm)
Workshop meets each Tuesday beginning January 5, 2021
Performances – Friday, March 5 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 6 at 2 p.m.

Two of fairy tales biggest villains, the Big Bad Wolf and the Wicked Witch, are brought to trial. Both the Wolf and the Witch have been frolicking from fairy tale to fairy tale, wreaking havoc as they try to prevent the general public from living happily ever after. Hear the personal accounts of what happened, told in testimonies and flashback sequences, from characters such as Snow White, Dorothy, Sleeping Beauty, the Three Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, and many others, including the Witch and the Wolf themselves, as each trial unfolds. Fun for all as the audience serves as the jury.

Grades 5th through 8th – Monday (4:30 pm to 6:30 pm)
Workshop meets each Monday beginning January 4, 2021
Performances – Saturday, March 6 at 7:00 p.m. & Sunday, March 7 at 2:00 p.m.

When Sally falls asleep while reading books about a certain juvenile wizard, she dreams that she is a student at Frogbull Academy of Sorcery. There she meets Headmaster Albatross Underdrawers, Gamekeeper Ruebenon Ryebread, and Professor Shiftia Shape. But danger is lurking, and it’s up to Sally and her new friends Dave and Harmonica to defeat the schemes of the evil Lord Murderdeath. Will she become the hero like the one in her favorite series? And who is the mysterious Censor who keeps rewriting the story as it goes along?
