ROCKWALL, TX – December 9, 2020 — The Rockwall County Commissioners Court appointed Jennifer Fogg as the new County Clerk during its regular meeting Wednesday, Dec. 9.
The court formally accepted the resignation of longtime County Clerk Shelli Miller during the meeting, before adjourning to Executive Session to discuss appointment of a new clerk. Following Executive Session, the court officially appointed Fogg to the position. Miller served as County Clerk for nearly a decade before announcing her retirement in a letter of resignation addressed to Rockwall County Judge David Sweet on Dec. 1.
Fogg began her career working for Rockwall County in 2009 for the County Clerk’s Office and was quickly promoted to Senior Clerk. In June of 2014, she accepted the position of Chief Deputy Clerk and six and half years later, will now serve as County Clerk. She and her husband, Chad, are the proud parents of Christian Fogg, a junior at Rockwall High School.
Fogg was appointed to server Miller’s unexpired term which will run through December 31, 2022, and she will be sworn in on Jan. 1, 2021.
“I am honored and humbled that Shelli suggested that the Court choose me as her successor and that the Court chose to appoint me for this position. I am certain that I can fulfill the duties of this position and serve the residents of Rockwall County,” Fogg said.
