Local young breeder crowned Cattlemen’s Congress champion

ROCKWALL, TX – Jan. 20, 2021 — Karter Peoples and heifer Berta were named 2021 National Junior Simbrah Grand Champions of the Cattlemen’s Congress elite cattle show in Oklahoma City. The inaugural show, which ran Jan. 2-17, saw top cattlemen and women from across the nation exhibit their cattle and showcase the highest quality genetics the cattle industry can offer.

“We couldn’t be prouder of Karter for the work she has put into this heifer,” wrote Karter’s mom Megan Peoples in a Facebook post. “Her & Berta have a bond like no other and are unstoppable. I’m so glad we decided to venture outside of our comfort zone and jump into the Simbrah world.
“Thank you to Reese & Katie & the entire Hagan Cattle Co. crew for making this little girls dream a reality and making us feel like family.
These last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind but the friendships and life lessons learned along the way make it worth it. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this duo!”
Congratulations to Karter and Berta on becoming 2021 National Junior Simbrah Grand Champions!
