Rockwall police arrest robbery suspects

ROCKWALL, TX – May 21, 2021 — Just after noon on Wednesday, May 19th, 2021, two suspects approached a mother with two small children in the parking lot of a business in the 800 Block of Steger Towne Drive. One suspect sprayed the victim in the face with pepper spray and stole her purse. Both suspects then fled in a gray Nissan Altima with dark, tinted windows and no front license plate.

After following up on leads developed during the investigation of the offense, detectives with the Rockwall Police Department identified the suspects as 19-year-old black, female Queshanique Finney and 19-year-old black, female Demonica Dawson. With assistance from the Dallas Police Department, the women were arrested Thursday afternoon on May 20th in Dallas, TX.

Both suspects have been charged with Robbery, a 2nd Degree Felony, and are currently held at the Dallas County Jail on a $50,000 bond. Finney was also jailed on a warrant from another jurisdiction. The case will be filed with Rockwall County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
