Highland Meadows Health & Rehab honors resident veterans with a pinning ceremony

ROCKWALL, TX – November 12, 2021 — On Veterans Day, Highland Meadows Health & Rehab celebrated all of its residents who are veterans with a special pinning ceremony led by Rockwall County Judge David Sweet.

Sweet fastened an honorary American flag pin to each resident veteran in attendance, as Highland Meadows staff joined him in thanking each for their service.

“Thank you for your willingness to step up, to always be on guard and to defend our country,” Sweet said. “There are those out there in the world who think that our way of life is not the right way to go, and want to do us harm. Our ability to be able to defend ourselves, to have that front line, is because of your willingness to answer the call. Thank you for being willing to answer that call, to stand on that first line of defense for our freedom.”

Residents recognized for their service were as follows:

Sandra Walls – Navy
Robert Zwanzinger – Navy
Robert Myler – Marines
Johnny Cowan – Army
Richard Elder – Navy
James Reimer – Navy
James West – Air Force
Richard Faulkner – Army
Robert Martens – Army
Harold Saulters – Army
