ROCKWALL, TX – February 15, 2022 — The third annual Gala, An Event to Remember, hosted by the Dallas and Northeast Texas Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, is changing its date from February 19, 2022 to May 7, 2022.
“The date change is being made out of an abundance of caution,” says Nicole Garrison, Manager of Relationship Events with the Dallas and Northeast Texas Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. “The safety of our constituents, supporters, and guests during the current omicron surge drove this decision, and we are hopeful that by moving the event to May 7 we will be able to resume the in-person Gala we are all looking forward to enjoying.”
The event venue remains the same, the prestigious Verona Villa located in Frisco. This year’s Gala includes an Italian-themed “Masquerade” event with entertainment, a silent and live auction, cocktail reception, and dinner.
The 2022 Gala will be hosted by Steve Eagar, reporter and anchor for KDFW FOX4 in Dallas. This is the third Gala in a row hosted by KDFW. Reporter/anchor Clarice Tinsley hosted the 2020 event and reporter/anchor Terrance Friday did the honors in 2021.
“Saralyn Hanford remains our Chair,” says Garrison. “She is being joined by Sam Petty and James Cochrum, Co-Presidents of Venture Mechanical located in Carrollton, Texas, and their wives Jennifer Petty and Mary Jo Cochrum as Honorary Chairs.”
Hanford’s career in aerospace, program management and process improvement, affords the event a unique perspective to her leadership. She has been active as a volunteer in several North Texas non-profit organizations including the Rockwall Women’s League, Empower 7, Veteran’s Outpost, and the Rockwall Noon Rotary Club.
Venture Mechanical is a premier mechanical construction and service provider in Texas, specializing in new construction and major renovation of commercial, industrial, and healthcare facilities. “We are proud to be a partner of the Alzheimer’s Association,” says Petty. “We have been a sponsor for many events over the past ten years,” adds Cochrum. “We are proud and humbled to serve as Honorary Chairs of the 2022 Gala.
“We are excited to have all of these community leaders on board for Gala, and are looking forward to this fabulous live event,” says Garrison.
